In short
Models that produce new text, images, audio, or video from a description. The reason creative production now runs inside the same loop as everything else.
Generative AI is the class of models that make things: text, images, video, speech, code. Give a description, get an artifact. The same family includes the language models inside agents and the image and video models that produce illustrations and renders.
What changed for businesses is that generation now happens inside the workflow. An agent publishing a post generates its five illustrations and its narration as steps in the same run. A render of a room from a job-site photo is a step, not a project.
Quality depends on the same practice as everything else: treat the output as information, adjust the instruction, run again.
Example
What it looks like.
A published article: text structured by one model, five illustrations in the house style from an image model, audio narration for every section from a speech model. One run, no human opened a design tool.Related
